Saint Michael's College student Katherine Rivers of Evansville participates in the American College Theater Festival

Katherine Rivers, daughter of Nancy and Thomas Rivers of Evansville, participated with a Saint Michael's College group of 16 theater students, in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival held in Fitchburg, Mass., Jan. 24-29.

Rivers, a junior theater major, graduated from Reitz Memorial High School before coming to Saint Michael's in Burlington, Vermont, one of the top 10 college towns in America. She took part in the Irene Ryan Acting Auditioner section of the festival, as well as attending several performances, many workshops, and a few lectures.

Saint Michael's College Professor Cathy Hurst and Associate Professor John Devlin brought the students to the festival which was attended by approximately 1,100 students and faculty from 58 colleges and universities from New England and Eastern New York. Professor Hurst is Co-Chair of the Region and professor Devlin serves as Co-Vice Chair of the region. The two are also co-treasurers for the region.
