Shelby Davis of Newington Featured in Saint Michael's College Major Fall Show: THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (abridged), Nov. 7-10

2012 Oct 25

Shelby Davis, daughter of Ms. Elizabeth Davis of Newington is one of six students performing the Saint Michael's College Department of Fine Arts major fall theater production, "THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (abridged)", November 7, 8, 9, 10 at 7 p.m. each evening, in the McCarthy Arts Center.

Davis, a first-year student theater major, graduated from Newington High School before coming to Saint Michael's.

Originally written for three men, this production features the ensemble of six actors who perform all 37 of Shakespeare's plays in 97 minutes. . . or less.

"I love how the six actors in this production work as an ensemble," said Fine Arts Professor Cathy Hurst, who directs the show. "They are an inventive cast-they approach the works of William Shakespeare with a good balance of scholarly awe, antic humor and theatrical irreverence," she added.
