Thomas Beaudoin of Jericho Awarded a $3,700 Saint Michael's College VP for Academic Affairs Research Fellowship for Summer 2012

Thomas Beaudoin, son of Margaret and Wayn Beaudoin of Jericho has been awarded a Saint Michael's College Vice President for Academic Affairs Research Fellowship to support research during summer 2012.

Beaudoin, a junior biology major, graduated from Mount Mansfield Union High School before coming to Saint Michael's, located in Burlington, Vermont, one of the top 10 college towns in America.

Beaudoin's successful grant application proposal, "Perceptions about Healthcare in the Winooski Vermont Refugee Community", will be advised by Anthropology Professor Adrie Kusserow. Beaudoin will receive a stipend of $3,700 to support the summer research.

"I enthusiastically agree with the committee in its judgment of the quality of your proposal," said Dr. Karen Talentino, SMC Vice President for Academic Affairs, in congratulating Beaudoin on receiving the fellowship.

All Saint Michael's College undergraduate and graduate students participating in paid research or receiving academic credit for research must participate in training in the responsible conduct of research.
